Ppl who have antec 300

i cant get the front audio jacks to work, the usbs work fine. i attacked the ac97 to the mobo and when i plug in my headphones, i dont get any sound from the front audio port? wat is wrong?

i have a asus m4a79t mobo, the built in sound card for the mobo works fine...but i cant get the front audio jacks on the antec 300 to work.

the ac97, is that also have a high def on the same wire ? Hook up the high def.

You use the HD, or the AC97, not both. You may need to go into the sound driver's control panel to set up the front panel.

On the wire that attaches to your front audio, you should have 2 plugs, one is marked AC97, the other HD audio. Plug the HD audio into the motherboard and see if it works. If that doesn't work see about loading the newest drivers for your OS for the Realtek ALC1200. If you are using Windows7 64bit it may not have them yet.

On ASUS motherboards you can set what type of output the front panel requires in BIOS (at least, on my P5KC and my friends P4-era one you can), so head in there, change the option, and see if that works.
