I have a new Dell 24 inch monitor (G2410) that has a native resolution of 1900 x 1080. It only has VGA and DVI inputs. My Canon HF100 high definition camcorder is also 1900 x 1080. It has a mini-HDMI output. Having heard that DVI and HDMI are basically the same accept for audio and connectors, I connected the camcorder HDMI to the monitors DVI input.

Here's the problem: the monitor would show the picture at 1066 x 720 resolution. It doesn't have a resolution control (that I could find.) How do I get it to show the camcorder at 1900 x1080?
