More about thermal compound
  1. Its fine to use. Won't be the best paste, but it should work fine.
  2. okay, yer i wasnt expecting it to be the best because it came with the cooler. if its not good enough ill get the acrtic silver 5. but thanks anyway
  3. It should be fine. You bought a Noctua so they won't be shipping crap. Is there a name on it anywhere?
  4. if you feel the need to go with Arctic silver 5 then do so.....i didn't use the compound that came with my coolermaster cause silver 5 has always impressed me. Use the one that it came with like you said.....and if you feel the need to make the switch to the silver 5 but run a few tests firs and see how happy you are with it :D
  5. try this one
AS3, OCZ Ultra II, and AS Ceramique
  6. ive done some research on the provided thermal compound with the noctua. it seems to be pretty good, so i think ill stick with it.
  7. yes good performance from same support like this :
noctua NH-U12P SE2 with thermal compound stock
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer extreme with ARCTIC COOLING Arctic MX-3 / 5

alwys good to do your research!!!! :sol:
  9. I have always liked Zero-Therm, seems to keep me pretty cool overclocked on air.
  10. I have been using the IC Diamond Thermal Compound. It works good I have used and do use AC5, AC3 and a variety of others over the years. Unless you really want to get the last bit of performance out their isn't a ton of difference in the compounds that are recommended and the one that comes with your cooler isn't horrible by any stretch so if you are looking to save a buck use it.
  11. My current favorite is Arctic MX-3. Soon shifting to Arctic MX-4.
  12. indigo xtreme
works the best but it's pretty expensive
    or shin etsu

I am a massive fan of ceramique, but it is the biggest pain in the world to apply properly.
  14. ^ MX-2 at newegg for like 8-9$

Best paste though, IC7 or IC24. Beast paste!
  15. Oh, Walmart sells OCZ Freeze for 5$ or 6$, I can't remember, so... That's pretty sweet.
  16. idk something about WALMART haha...just go to your local radio shack and pick up some Arctic Silver 5......

Anyone think that they might be toying with an infringement cause they package it and sell it as their own brand lol
  17. I'd rather buy/use Freeze over AS5.
  18. to each their own i guess :D

and that's cool, whatever floats your boat.
ALL I'M SAYING IS AS5 is available at Radio Shack and than the shack is open 7 days a week.
so if you run out of compound for whatever reason, you can go to the shack and not have to order some on-line and wait.
    people please..

heard that!!!!when did rat shack start to carry the AS5 tho?? i noticed it about a month ago i was looking for a cheap soldering iron and i saw the AS5 and i was like woaaahh WTF?? lol
