just purshased the asus-m2a74-am mobo with Mushkin EM2-6400 DDR2-800 2GB and AMD Athlon X2 7550 (95W) OEM Dual-Core Socket AM2+, . noticed when trying to install xp takes forever like the computer crawls! because the memory is 800mhz do i have to change the mem clock value to 400mhz rather then 200mhz?

i set it to auto. I'm at a loss here! Sopposed to be quicker then my old system but it crawls. After 2 hours to install xp it installed in classic mode for some reason? This never happened before. :fou:

Can't find the specs on that ram but i wouldnt mind betting it's the wrong ram and is the cause of the slowness, that moboard needs low density non ecc it's more expensive than the regular ram.

ha, i also faced the same crawling prob, but i found that i was using the connecting ide cable the wrong way, then i connected it acc to user manual and the window loaded in no time after that..
