Can I close my own topic, and if so how? I have seen others close their own topic. Please explain.

Usually, the thread is closed by a moderator after the issue is resolved, and the 'Best Answer' is chosen by the original poster.

Topics are closed by moderators from Toms. If you had noticed, it says
" This topic has been closed by_______"

The '________' would display the moderator's name. For example in this thread, the moderator area51reopened has closed it.

A usual member of Toms, even the OP, can't close his/her thread. However, he/she, can request a moderator to close it, however the decision still remains in the hands of the moderators.

Topics or threads are usually closed after the question that he OP asked for has been resolved, or if a moderator thinks that if a site contains certain unwanted questions, such as those that has been asked by the same OP twice or thrice, that thread would get deleted.

Also are the threads that may ask for how to crack a game or to porvide other members with cd keys will also be locked or closed.
