I was fiddling around, tried flashing my Palit ATI HD 4650 from within windows, PC crashed....
Then... managed to steal my brothers PC because mine doesnt have onboard graphics. Couldnt find the BIOS (Because its the 1GB one, 512 everywhere but no 1GB) i needed anywhere so i had to use the one I had edited (with RBE?) and then saved, but i edited it back. MS-DOS, atiflash etc. massive hassle but got there in the end.
Outcome of all this is now its active but not working with the ATI drivers. ATI says (when i try to open CCC):
No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly. Please install the ATI driver appropriate for your ATI hardware.
And in Device Manager is says:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
GPUZ recongises it and the sensors seem to be recognised. The clocks are down 2/3mhzish on what the default should be.
I have tried:
1 Uninstalling all traces of ATI, safe mode, driver cleaner pro etc etc
2 Re-installing drivers from both palit and ati websites.
3 Kicking the bloody thing
None helped.
Maybe you can?
Thanks
Steve
(wow, gpuz in pretty smart)
