Hey all, I'm in the process of buying a new computer. I was wondering which motherboard is the overall best performer for the components of my computer; Asus P5QL - Pro or Asus P5Q - SE2?

The specs of my computer,
CPU - Intel Core2 Quad Q8400 2.66G
RAM - 8GB DDR2
Memory - 800 GB
Graphics - Nvidia GeForce 1GB 9500GT

Btw, I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to the actual hardware of the computer, so I'm just wondering is this a good motherboard to run these components.

I would get a Gigabyte P45 motherboard. There are several models.
Gigabyte is better than Asus at the moment in my opinion.
You need a 64-bit operating system with that much RAM.

Well these boards get mixed reviews, especially the p5q-l. Im the first one to suggest asus but if thats your budget than you would probably be better off with that http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128372

Is it going to be gaming machine? Because I would sacrifice 4 gigs of ram to get something better than that 9500gt

The second one has 2 PCI-express ports for Crossfire or dual video cards.
If you don't need them you can get the first one.
