Advice needed.. New Build

Well, my amazing gaming Athlon 64 3400 w/winxp 32-bit isn't working out so much anymore and I am looking to build a new system. I built my current system but it has been a couple years so I don't know if my newly created build will work out, so I am looking for advice. Compatibility and if possible any price cuts. From its current $650.00 price tag. (I left out the items I have. OS, Sata Drive, etc.)

To add to the mess, with the Am3 Cpu will my new build need a flash or will it see the AM3 right away? Also will the onboard video get in the way or can turn it off. I also have no plans to be overclocking or really interested in running sli or crossfire. Advice welcome.

And as u can see tat the mobo I have listed has crossfire support, u can get the 4870 1GB for now and later u can crossfire with another one...

Actually u don need a 750W PSU for that setup...its a overkill...A 500W gud quality shuld be enuf...
Go wit the 750W only if u plan to Corssfire later...

Right, I grabbed the 750w do to the discounted price. Plus the gtx 260 card I picked out says it requires over 500w. I don't really know how much I am supposed to add to that with the rest of my systems need, or if I am even supposed to do that

Did u look at the combo??? its will cost u the same...
And the SB750 on the GX can help with stable overclock wit the Phenom...

As for the PSU, get this for ur curent setup (If u are not planning to Crossfire later)

But if u are willing to crossfire, then stick with ur choice...

And I will once again clear about the graphics card...If u go with the mobo that has 2 PCIe slot, they support Crossfire and nt SLI...
So if u go with the 790GX, it has 2 PCIe slots, which support Crossfire...so u shuld go with the ATI cards to take advantage of this setup...

Yeah, I saw the combo, that's definitely good to know, as well as the PSU. Thanks... I guess don't really need the 750w then, I don't plan on having dual cards.

Whether you OC or not, its only $30 for this aftermarket cooler and paste. It runs your CPU cooler and silent since the fan can be set to 500RPM.

OCing is all done in windows by the manufactuers software AMD overdrive. Its free performance upgrade = free money. We all like free money.

Perhaps I won't completely dismiss OCing afterall. I have been out of the loop way too long. Seems "easier" now than with my last pc.

any of the higher end biostar boards (ta- series are easy as pie to oc and rock stable, i just gave my buddy my ta-780g matx board when i bought my e8500 setup, and it'll handle oc just fine, just check the cpu list as you might need the next model up for the better mosfets (wattage)

it'd save you some $$ and still be rock solid

Something like this one here? A combo is actually cheaper than the last couple boards I looked at. Would my Phenom II be recognized, or would I have trouble with that, with this board?
