Hello friends, i need to know whenever i overclock my cpu to 3.5Ghz the memory speed increases to 1600+ghz and sometimes it causes instability and i have to Reduce the CPU To 3.48 Ghz. Can i increase the cpu to 3.5Ghz and keep the memory to 1600mhz(stable at 3.48Ghz with memory at 1600mhz)?

System
Amd Athlon II X4 635 2.9Ghz@3.4Ghz
MSI 880GMA-E41
Kingston 4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz

Hi.

No u can't since the CPU that you have isn't a BE CPU. I suggest to you that slow down the RAM speed in the BIOS to 1066, so, when you rise the FSB again the RAM speed will rise to 1333 that is the reated speed of your RAM.

Run the RAM at not rated speed can kill the memory controller of the CPU, the RAM or both.
