MIssing Windows Explorer

My Windows Explorer icon is present in the accessories menu; however, when I select it, my Microsoft Word files are displayed. I can't figure out why or determine how to reinstall Windows Explorer so that it will open correctly instead of Microsoft Word files.

IMO, corruption of a file, or registry has occurred.

Might do a chkdsk /f and also a repair from windows CD.

go to folder options and check the LNK type files, reset to default if needed.

also, the shortcut in start menu, right click on it > properties what is the shortcut linking to?
