Power outage

We had a power outage and the computer was up and was surged when the power came back on. How do I reboot to get my computer back up?

1st thing i'd do is unplug the computers power supply and leave it unplugged for at least 10 minutes. Is your power now stable ? If it is replug in the power supply and see if your system will boot up by pushing the power button. If it won't then there's a chance that the power surge fried something.

PSU may be fried, but of course if you were using a nice UPS with a built in surge protection you wouldnt have to worry.

dirtmountain's idea sounds good if it still wont start try borrowing a spare Power supply and test it on your system. Hopefully it didnt fry the rest of your system.
