Advice on graphics card please for Cubase music machine

I am building a music machine: PC: core i7 Asus 6t deluxe V2 motherboard, 12 gig RAM, running Cubase 5 and lots of VSTs, nothing else.

This machine is dedicated to music making and will never run games. I have dual monitors which are of the new standard (sorry but I forget the name - the not VGA plugs is it DVI???) .

I am looking for a graphics card which does not have a fan because I want to keep things quiet. Apart from the ability to run two monitors I don't need much more.

Talking about things I know nothing about; the less system RAM it uses the better (if they use anything at all.)

Could you recommend the best bang for buck please?

thanks for your help guys

Get this one...and is less than $75...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150362

Has 1GB of RAM, which can handle high resolutions of the 2 monitors easy...And has 2 DVI outputs...

But this would be better...Though you wont require this much power but still...

Any thing cheaper than these cards might not have 2 DVI ports...
But if you get a 9400GT or 9500GT, ATI 4650, ATI 4670 cheaper than the above mentioned, then check if they have 2 DVI ports and if yes, get them...

Thanks Guys, I thought I would add that I dont really want to block a port with a heat sink or bring up the case temperature (as I shall overclock if I can).

well im running myself a 9400gt from EVGA ( 2 x DVI) on a dual 19'' lcd on my studio pc, im running Sonar 8 64 bits and it run smooth .. you dont need a powerfull card to run studio software. only cpu and ram. and for the no use of system ram ... you got 12Gb .. so dont worries about .. i got 6GB inside and even with the onboard videocard enable, it dont use alot of RAM. even in full band rec at same time ( 16 x XRL in ) the system dont use all the ram .

for the fan .. i use riva tuner to slow down the fan to 30% and it dont over heat. and its pretty silent.

i got a generic mid tower case with 2 x 120mm fan and everything is pretty cool

so dont spend alot of money on a videocard.

what is your videocard? just curious :p

Its a new build so it does not have a card yet. My old machine has a matrox 550 which did the job fine - stutters on video, but this does not matter. I think you got too many fans there - maybe you could get rid of one?? One for the CPU one in the power supply thats generally enough for me.

You don't need an i7 for music making.... =/ Core2Duos and Core2Quads will do just fine.

Anyways, the ATI 3850/3870/4550/4650/4670 are good choices and Nvidia 7800/7900/7950/8600/8800/9500/9600 are also good

well with a Quad core and 4 stick of ram ... if you dont have case fan .. hish .... it will be hot inside .. cpu temp will be higher than normal etc ... and both fans running on 5V .. so they run around 700-800 rpm .. so noisless, but make the job

and sorry i wanna know soundcard, not videocard :p, me im running 2 X Delta 1010 .. and wanna buy a third one

I have checked out these cards and it seems that they may all take two slots (Asus 6PT V2). Any other cards to suggest? I an thinking budget fanless two monitors.
