Hi all, in past 2 months, i f***** up 2 set of 2x1 1066 mhz ram, crucial and kingston. im getting Memtest error with almost 1 million failure in 15 minutes.. i keep getting BSOD, i tried to clock down to 800 and 667 mhz, errors are lowered, but continued so i may say no effect. Then i removed 1 piece of ram, now it works ok, but no ddr2 of course.. what should i do?? where is the problem? Thanks..

Obviously if you got Memtest86+ errors it's your RAM.

Also, make sure your RAM voltages are correct. You need ~2v or so for DDR2 1066 RAM.

I have a couple sets of Crucial Ballistix that need 2.2 volts to run at DDR2-1066 speeds. With a Gigabyte motherboard, default RAM voltage is 1.8 volts. So, in this case, I set the RAM voltage to [+0.40 volts].

A have 3 Gigabyte motherboards. One is a GA-EP35-DS3P. It's been very stable, running a Q6600 at 3.6 GHz.

Ah, first thing to do is put in one stick of whatever (and don't mix 'em - not likely to work) in the slot closest the CPU, and enter BIOS for a "Load Optimized Defaults", see what happens. Will help if you post RAM mfg and p/n (for both?); will try to help - if the RAM itself isn't defective, we can get it working...

Correct. JDEC standard is 1.8v.
