Hi well i'm planning on building my computer this week and i like the benchmarks and specs of this processor BUT, i can't find a processor that matches the socket and provides the processor type.
So tom's hardware we are on a mission! Please find me a MOBO that will 100% work with the AMD Phenom II x4 940 processor Socket AM2+
Thanks! idc if i have to change my RAM, i just want DDr2 dual channel or better
It looks like it's made out of lego but it's really a great mobo. I did have to update the bios so that it recognised my 940 BE however. You will probably find that this is an issue with the majority of AM2+ mobos, even the newest ones.
Check out the biostar 790gx also, it's cheap as hell and there is nothing wrong with it. If you don't want to go through the hassle of a bios update then you will probably have to ask for one that is already updated specifically.
If you don't need an IGP, the Gigabyte 790X is very, as are the ASUS and Gigabyte 790FXs.
