Hi im getting a custom gaming pc built and it says i require about a 500w psu for it

My specs are
amd Phenom II X4 940
Gigabyte 780G Motherboard
XFX Radeon 4870(1GB)
4GB 800mhz Ram
500GB Sata Hard drive (7,200 rpm)
(and then all the other stuff like vista ect....)

ive bought a case and im getting a person to build it but i was wanting to know will my power supply be ok for my spec

Get a good quality PSU. Corsair VX550 or HX520.

That is an absolutely terrible power supply. What matters more with a power supply is the amperage and the amperage of that 600w would be terrible for a 500w power supply.

Stick with a PC Power and Cooling, a corsair, or an Antec power supply.
