Hi guys my current 3D mark score is 27548 P, however with my current set-up I was expecting more. I have

Phenom II X4 955 (OC to 3.7GHz)
4GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM
X2 GTX470 in sli (Core-700, Shader-1400,mem-1700)
Win 7 64 bit
Operating sli on a 750a chipset at 8x/8x (however i read that shouldnt make a difference)

Am I expecting to much or should I be getting more with this set-up

Your score seems about right to be honest, I get a very similar score with 2 x HD5850's and a Core i7 920.

3DMark Vantage is just a benchmark, What matters is games :)

cool, that the 470 is meant to compete with the 5850's and your getting similar is good news.
yeah games are running great I was just wondering if I was missing anything.
only just got my sli set up within the last week then they go release the GTX 580, how am I meant to keep up lol :-)

Yeah lol, It's pretty much impossible to always keep up, unless you have money to burn. :(

Glad to hear your games are running great :)  Enjoy your setup

Yup gaming performance is what matters, not the score.

My good old e2180 oc to 3ghz and 320mb 8800gts are still chugging along. And they get 11320 on 3d mark 06, I remember I was quite proud of myself when I took the top score for similarly configured computers for that too.

Gaming performance is what matters. I believe the higher the score in 3dmarks in vantage it gets to a point where it is pointless overkill. It is way too much $ to have 2 or more of the top of the line graphics cards unless gaming across multiple screens. One does the job in most cases. I will admit I did upgrade to a gtx 470 from a 8800gt and there is some huge gains with dx11 in graphics in some games, which is why I upgraded but like most gamers and overclockers you like to test the performance and capabilities and then overclock just for fun!

I'm a "No such thing as overkill" kinda dude. Spent the dough and got the scores. In real gaming I can shut off one of the 3 580's w/o seing a difference. But what about the next batch of games? I dont have to touch my tower again for quite awhile.
