I'm upgrading my Athlon64 3500+ pc on a tight budget.
New setup,
AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE
Gigabyte MA790GP-UD4H AMD790GX
G.SKILL PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GBCL5-5-5-15 (under 390$ PSU Incl.)
+ DVD-RW, 2 usb devices, 2x120mm 3x80mm and 1 pci tv tuner. "for now onboard Sound and video".
Eventually, Light OC, Gaming and TV.

What's the better choice?
OCZ ModXStream Pro 400W "140mm" (50$) or
Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W "120mm"(50$)?
Thank's!

The Cooler Master will give you an extra 100W for future growth (Although you don't need it for your current specs).
Both are quality units, so so can't go wrong with chosing either.

The weird thing is when a calculate what i need,
it says that 285watt is enough.
Kinda strange no?

Even if i exagerate, i wont go over 285w???

OCZ fatality one 400w will be on sale at newegg tomorrow for $25 after rebate with free shipping. Or Fry's has the coolermaster 600w for $19.99 after $10 rebate today only for father's day.

Go for the CM600w for $20, cant go wrong there.

Its the same power supply I've been using for nearly 3 years on my current system.

Not really since the OCZ has more 12V amps.

I would recommend the Corsair CX400 or VX450.

Ok and the verdict is? ;)
On a couple of forums, the OCZ and the CM have some problems with "noise" when the charge reach 40% and up ... I hesite even more...
Other Suggestions?

And why are you replying to a thread that's 40 days old?

For gaming AMD is as good as Intel.
