Hello, I recently bought the above motherboard as an upgrade with that processor. After assembly the motherboard made POST beeps indicating: Power Error.
1)I took the motherboard off and made sure there were no unnecessary brass stand-offs.
2) I swapped out PSUs (requires 1x24pin and 1x4pin) and it made the same error.
3) I tried it without a video card entirely, still made the same beeps.
Anything else I can try? Or do i just have a bad motherboard? Let me know if you require any additional information.
Make sure you try it with nothing connected except the power switch and cpu fan. Since you swapped out the M/B, always a chance of a cross-connect on front panel controls. Disconnect the drive cables from the M/B, etc... I assume the CPU fan is running.
Others here may have more suggestions but try this for now.
I just tried it now with ONLY the CPU fan plugged in, the 24pin & 4 pin motherboard power. I expected to get different beeps like, "RAM missing." but instead i still get the same continuous beeps. Im fairly certain now that this shouldn't be happening to a regular board.
Im leaning towards RMAing it, but i don't want the same results if i get the same model =/
Hmm,for what it is worth,,take mobo out of case connect to psu install video/ram/floppy or bootable cd/dvd/and speaker,,this way you can be certain that it is the mobo and not something you did or did not do check the following.. http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

I identified the problem: he didn't upgrade his RAM. i noticed his DDR ram didn't fit the slot and when i put in a stick from my computer. not a peep/beep was heard.
Odd that it resorted to continuous, unceasing noise instead of the correct memory beep code.
I appreciate all the responses given, again, thank you.
