Catalyst Control Center Must Be Open for OC?

I overclocked my 5550 via CCC. I was playing some CoD to test and noticed that the OC didn't register in ATI Overdrive. Is this normal or do I need to open CCC every time I boot up to have the overclock actually take?

I'd suggest scrapping overclocking with CCC and using something like MSI Afterburner or RivaTuner.
