Over-clocking in Ubuntu (or derivative)

Hi.

Does anyone know how to overclock a CPU through one of the Ubuntu derivatives?

I don't mind doing some command line, or text, editing to achieve this. I understand there may not be some GUI friendly software for everything under the sun.

But... it does need to done through software, as this PC does not have any jumper/bios options for it.

  1. Hello, and welcome to the Forum.

First off, what type of system is it. Is it a prefabricated system like a Dell or a homebuilt system?
  2. Im sorry to say there is no software for overclocking on ubuntu, even if there was software overclocks are unstable and I wouldn't recomend it.
Also if you can't overclock throu your UEFI/BIOS you can't overclock at all.
  3. No trolling and vulgar language please. Thank you.
