I'm new to this forum and I'm a newbie at building a pc. Last time I build one was way back in 02 or 03 (P4 system).

My friend was upgrading so he sold some of his parts to me for dirt cheap.

Stuff I bought from him: Antec P180 mini case, Antec 500w earthwatt power supply, pioneer sata dvd burner & HIS 4870 1GB. (All for $200)

All I need is processor, motherboard, memory and a network card.

All I do with my computer is surf the net and play mild game.

I am in a tight budget($300) and need your advise.

Which one should I get? Intel Q8200($120) or Q9400($160) at a local shop or get a AMD X4 920 @ newegg.com for $150?

And my friend said I need a atx mirco motherboard with DDR2 memory. Is 4gb of DDR2 667 good for my build?

I will be installing Vista home premium 64 bit.

It doesn't have to be DDR2 and you won't need a network card.

I'd go with the phenom II on that list, an AM3 mobo and 4GB DDR3.

EDIT:
Others have better knowledge of AMD mobos than me, so I'll wait for them rather than give you bad advice...

Most motherboards have built in network adapter.

I looked at newegg.com and only found 1 AM3 micro atx motherboard(DFI LP Jr) and it's kinda has a bad reviews and its kinda pricey.

If you know if theres other AM3 micro atx board, let me know.
