I think you are allocating money to the wrong places. Get an AM2+ mobo and 4gb of DDR2 Ram so you can afford a better processor; 940BE

DDR3 shows almost no improvement over DDR2, like maybe 5% gain in performance, AMD is not convinced that the AM3 DDR3 platform is fully baked, I would not jump to it yet.
