I've been trying to read a Maxtor OT4 Plus drive on a new machine. Several new machines, in fact, with no luck. It was locked. It showed up in Device Manager as working correctly but wouldn't auto-launch the software needed (Maxtor Manager). Then I tripped over this forum and found a (closed) thread full of posters with similar problems--and found (a) confirmation that the reason it wouldn't auto-launch was because the drive was locked and (b) the answer to my problems: a link to download the necessary software (not a link to a URL but a link for the file itself)!! I had tried to get the software from Seagate, following the instructions on their site, but haven't heard back. But now I don't need to, and I can do what I need to tonight at what is really the last possible minute to get it done, because of this incredibly helpful poster!
