well, there is no magic setting to recommend. what's the CPU temperature? Are you using the stock heat sink? Decrease the RAM divider and start increasing the HT link

the asus i like but the msi is a defo go for me :) n thnx again bro

Yah need to drop your HT link to x4 and drop your memory ratio from 400 to 333.

That will give you enough *headroom* to go 14.5x242MHz or 3.5GHz+.

That will slightly OC your RAMs to 807MHz, and your HT will be running 4x242MHz.

If you drop your memory ratio to 266 and your HT to x3, I suspect you can run 13.5x280MHz for 3.8GHz (with good cooling) and your RAMs will be running 2.66x280MHz, or 745MHz.

You could try the clock at 300MHz - LOL - but that might be pushing it a little too far. You will return your RAMs to spec 800MHz if you manage to do so. (Hint: You might want an extra fan blowing on your FETs :) )

I love Gigabyte (not a big fan of the nVidia chipset, though)

ive tryed wot you have said n everytime it starts up it says 2.91ghz for process speed is it the K8<->NB HT Speed i make to x4 ?????

yup --- don't forget to drop back the memory ratio to 333.

Does this look familiar ??

(Thank you Hardware Secrets!)

If I understand your question correctly .... YES! .... you should change the HT Link speed to x4

With the setting at *x4* this should allow you to raise the clock up to 250MHz without exceeding the 1000MHz HT Link speed.

I don't know what that means. Please improve your communication skills.

14.5 x 240MHz = 3.48GHz CPU

240MHz x 3.33 = 799MHz ram speed

240MHz x 4 = 960MHz HT link speed

yea thats wot i mean but i tuck it to 14.5x 250mhz 250mhz x 3.33 250mhz x 4

n all isee on my pro sepeed is 2.91 ghz
