Hey, I've just upgraded my Motherboard, RAM, CPU and PSU. When I boot up my PC it shows BIOS screen and shows the RAM configuration screen and shows the SATA hard drives and waits for me to go to setup or continue. So I press continue, then it shows the hard drive name and size, then it shows the PCI device listing. Then goes on to the XP screen and then the login screen. It this point I am unable to press anything in the keyboard or move the cursor. This is the first problem.
So I restart my PC. Then when my PC starts again it doesnt show anything, just the POST script on the motherboard, C1 which means:
Detect memory-Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC-Auto-detection of L2 cache (socket 7 or below)
And apparently the solution is to "Update flash BIOS" and so I tried following the direction given on Abit's website, put the BIOS files onto a Floppy Drive, put the Floppy into an external FDD, cleared the CMOS and told the BIOS to use the external Floppy drive as the main boot device. It ignored that and went to the BIOS hard drive screen then to the PCI devices Screen and started to beep. High then low like a siren non stop then it shows me the login screen and I cannot use my Keyboard and mouse.... That is the second problem.
I think I may have to use an internal FDD rather than an External one but I still don't know which files to put on the Floppy, If you could read what they want me to d and make some sense out of it that would be great. (See BIOS update Method at Bottom)
Any help is much appreciated.
