This is the weirdest conflict I know of. For the longest time, I was having a problem where my default gateway would randomly disappear. I'd be right in the middle of doing something on the net and 'poof', no more gateway so it would mess up whatever I was doing. I tried a bunch of things. Hard-coding my info in, switching my net-card, changing the network cable, re-formating and re-installing WinMe, were just a few. Today I got so upset I decided to take out all of my peripherals except for my necessities (IE Board, Processor, RAM, HD, net-card). Then, for 3 straight hours, it stayed on without any problem. Being as I have to re-lease and renew my IP configuration at least every 15 minutes, this was a good surprise. The first thing I put back in was my sound card. As soon as I did that the problem re-appeared. Do you guys think that a conflict between a motherboard and soundcard would do that? If so, any ideas on fixing this issue? My system specs are as follows:
MB: ASUS P3V-4X
Vid: LeadTek Geforce 256/DDR
RAM: 256 mb CL2
HD: 18gig Western Digital
Netcard: Linksys LNE 100TX
SoundCard: SoundBlaster X-Gamer
Hey Frank, why don't you post your problem in the Motherboard/Chipset forum or the forum of you operating system. Also, included the type operating system you are using. Not a lot of traffic down here in this forum, so you will get more feedback up there.
What did I say to get that response? Maybe it was the way that I said it. Well, I was not insinuating in anyway that a company was not comprised of real people. I was only commenting to advise the newbie to this forum that they would get better feedback and problem resolution in the type specific forums above. However, I am sensitive to your response and apologize if I caused offense.
