I was also impressed by how quickly it installed, and I didn't have to install a single driver! This was also my first time trying it out, and I'm very impressed by how smooth it all is.
Same here... when I first booted up with it, there were still 3 question marks on my Device Manager. Eventually though the system actually found the drivers for my laptop's fingerprint reader and card reader online, before offering to me as updates to download and install. I'm just seeing if everything will remain fast when there are lots of programs installed.
Very impressed with 7.. Installed as an upgrade over Vista premium on a HP G60-235DX laptop.
All went extremely well..All drivers there. All functions worked as advertised.
ONLY issue was with Norton 360..It reinstalled fine only issue was e-mail scanner and IM scanner..I reinstalled 360 and ALL was fine.
It boots a little faster than Vista. Like the look of it. So far very stable..IT'S A KEEPER!!
first impresion was not the best because I installed previous release and had problems with network connections and wasn't able to resolve it, but than installed RC and it is great. Faster, looks great, coll features etc.
i found that booted up fast over XP. just got done build a new computer so went from xp for week to window 7 few 2 days now and love it have no problems running anything yet. unlike vista i keep haveing problems after problems that why went back to xp
I am downloading Windows 7 RC as I write this. Hopefully I will be checking it out tomorrow after work. Looks like it will be worth it after all . . . glad I did not upgrade to Vista.
So far, so good. All my old programs are still working fine, and I have been folding @ home overnight. I get random crashes to to BSOD, but those are rare and expected in a pre-release product. Looks like Microsoft has a keeper here.
Those random crashes I talked about earlier have become nonexistant. I don't know if Microsoft has been updated the product countinuously or not, but my system is 100% stable with Windows 7 even with my 33% overclock.
