I need to upgrade my graphics card (8800gts 320mb) so i looked around and found 2 cards at very similar prices, the gtx 260 and the 4870. I looked at the benchmarks and couldnt conclude which was better as both performed better in different benchmarks. I play at 1440x900 screen resoloution. Anyone got any advice? my specs:

Corsair HX 620w
Asus p5N-D motherboard
core 2 duo e6400 2.13ghz
4gb corsair 800

Also should i upgrade my cpu, to a quadcore maybe?

Get one from XFX, EVGA or BFG, they offer the best warranties.
Do n`t pay more for an overclocked card.
Read the Newegg reviews, they shed light in the dark places the manufacturers do n`t want you to see.
Do n`t pay heavily for a flashy cooler, in fact if you do n`t have a big case with cyclonic airflow the reference coolers are best because they eject hot air directly out of the case instead of relying on the case fans to do the job.
The GTX260 is a fine card and will last well, but at your current resoloution I`d say the 512 Mb HD4870 is a better buy and match for your current needs.

Looks like you`re in luck with the CPU upgrades:

If you`re going to keep this for a few years go Quad otherwise the E8400 looks good.
