As a matter of fact I know that lot's of friends out there've the same problem but desen't seem that any genius've been able to provide a solution..... I've an XDA IIs windows based PPC, pre-installed WMP v9. I've a WMP v10 on my laptop. I've a winavi converter. I've converted all my movies into all the possible avi formats and tried to copy them on my PPC with a 1 GB card. The system shows the process of copying them onto my 1 GB card but after some time stops. I tried converting the movies into wmv format and tried to sync those files to my PPC through my WMP v10 on my lap top but it failed stating the error that WMP v10 could not convert the file into the required PPC format.....
I need certain solution about what format works in WMP v9 0n PPC and wether is there any way that I can transfer my movies (in a smaller file size) to the memory card and watch them with WMP v9 on PPC. Also can someone give me a solution to be able to sync my PPC with my WMP v10 on my laptop for the purpose of transferring these movies onto my PPC memory card...... I've tried all the best that I could but still've not been able to achive all the above stated results.
The person who helps solve these problems will be getting a lot of good wishes from a lot of people suffering like me.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE GOOD WORK.....

I was hesitatant to answer given the subject, but thought what the heck...
They may give you an answer too.

Your WMV needs to be 320 x 240 or smaller, and have a bit rate of 700k or
smaller. IF it is an older PPC shoot for around 300k, still watchable.
Drop the resolution too or it will look rough.

You will find that copying a large file by Active Sync is not conducive to
productivity. If you are going to be doing many movies (which is great on
the PPC, btw), then invest in a cheap card reader to move them to the
storage card from the PPC. Or, if you have wireless, move them directly
that way - wifi wise it should take about 5 minutes or so per 100 meg if you
have a good connection .

Stick with it - I find it to be pretty cool to have video at hand.

Also, if you want to move away from the WMP on the handheld you should check
out Beta Player, and use something like Tsunami Mpeg Encoder on a PC to rip
them down to size in the mpeg format - in some ways this works better than
WMP, although the files tend to be a bit larger (25%).

Good Luck
