Why do you want DDR3 on a P45 and Q9550? Theres no performance advantage over DDR2.

I agree with zip. There is at most a 2% increase performance with DDR3 over DDR2 with any socket 775 system. Better off saving the money and going with DDR2 UNLESS you're going to go a new system in less than six months.

All P45 boards support PCI-Express 2.0.

I agree with everyone else here, DDR3 is a waste of money for LGA 775 boards. Overclocking only slightly or spending that money on a better CPU or GPU is a better investment.

Also, if you are looking at a 6 GB kit that has 3 x 2 GB cards, you won't be able to run it in dual channel mode with the whole 6 GB, which would give you even worse performance than any dual channel DDR2 setup.
