This is my continuation of Bluescreendeath's thread. I'm asking for clarification because it seems the thread died.

When I view Coretemp, it says my Core#0 and Core#1 are idling at 52c and 51c. Max temps under 100% load are about 62c.
Am I to understand that this is not the actual cpu temp but the tjunction temp?

So If It says my Tj max is 85c, does that mean as long as coretemp reads my tems under 85c I'm good?

I've always wondered why my bios reports temps in the 35c range but coretemp reads much higher.

Need clarification from someone who understands tjunc temps versus actual cpu temps when using Coretemp.

Thanks in advance.

Yea im curious about this too. My bios actually reports higher then what core temp tells me. (using Core i7)

I asked the admin at CoreTemp and he says those core readings are the cpu temps. He also said that you should stay at least 15c lower than the tj max under full load. So for example if your TJmax is 85c you want to stay under 70c.
