Your graphics card most likely does not support it and needs to be replaced. Check the system specs for your new flat screen, and your graphics card.

Can you list the make and model of the monitor along with the make and model of your video card?

If the video cards has more than one dvi port, try using the other one. Also some monitors have more than one input. Make sure the correct one is selected.

i heard about that problem and i also have solution for this u see this message on when windows start right if the problem is same then press esc on when this message comes u will show the display now u can set it on other resolution wich ur monitor support ......

or it shows on pluging the cable then u need to change the motherboard if graphic card is not installed or u may install new graphics card
