I certainly would not think so ! Why do you ask, better yet, why are you on SP2 ? !

Do you have a missing ntldr error when starting xp?
Are you in recovery console and want to copy from Win cd to c:\ but can't find the files?

I don't know if there is a backup of the files in Windows ( maybe Dll cache, Repair, Service pack files folders?)
But it should be on your CD in I386 folder. I think it's archived and it has another extension. You need the expand command at the recovery console, then replace the files.

insert whe windows xp cd in the drive now whe the message comes ntldr missing type this on ur screen


1."c:" then enter
2."cd windows"
3. "chkdsk/r"

thats all the file will auto copy in the drive or if will be locate in system32 u just go to system32 after windows drive

the error message shows where the file is located ... ex. c:\windows\system32\windlr.dll is missing u just go on to that directory which file is missing..
