Alright well i've got an evga Nvidia Geforce 8800gts running on a Samsung 220 and i want to get a HD/Blu-Ray disc drive. So im not sure if i need to download any drivers for the card or will it play the high quality on the monitor on its own?

What's the resolution, i think 1680x1050. It's not 1080, so it will probably not support full Hd, but you can still run blu-ray just not at full resolution

Yes you can, but the video will be reduced to your monitor's max resolution and there will be a small decrease in video quality as a result of that.

Yes, if it has to resize the vid your CPU might be worked harder, but if you have a display 1080p and higher it'll work good.
