I trying to narrow my choices for building a new system. Mostly I want a best price/performance system
Here is what I want in my system:
- A quad core(preferably Intel)
- A good motherboard (please help me here)
- A Nvidia card (I'm think of using 2 in the future)(I want Nvidia since my system will run Linux most of the times and from my knowledge Nvidia has better suport for Linux)
- Maximum price 1500
- at least 1000W power supply (is it enough for 2 Nvidia Cards?)
Note: I am planing to run a 64 bit linux and have Windows installed in a virtual machine
I would start with:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor
BFG GeForce GTX 280 1GB GDDR3
Not sure about motherboard. Please help
4G of Ram(whatever I find on sale
)
a 1000W Power Supply. What brands are better? Probably I will get what is available at the local store
a case
.. the rest is not that important
