i was just wanting to know wat is the minimal amout of power two gtx 280's require, the new computer i'm building consists of a i7 920, 6gb of ddr3, 1 cd/dvd, and 3 hdd's. the power supply i'm currently using is an ocz gamestream 700w, although i'm sure it's not enough for two 280's
A quick 'very conservative' try by me brought up 701W. You may be cutting it a little close. I like to have a decent margin over max.
Edit: assuming the PSU is in good shape it probably could do it (since rarely is everything maxed, and like I said, I did throw in a couple of extra things) but that still may be a little close for comfort. You could also consider a dedicated GPU PSU if you don't want to upgrade your PSU (assuming you think you need more than 700W).

Yeah, I didn't do Cap aging either. The other thing you can do is look at other peoples systems on the board and see what they have. I know L1qu1d has a 1000W, but that is for Tri-SLI.
