After I plugged a Microsoft Optical mouse in to one of my USB ports on
my Toshiba Laptop, I could not boot XP Pro.

After keying in my Login name, and Password from Desktop I get
MessageBox:

Caption: Windows Product Activation

Some system files are missing or damaged. You cannot log on at this
time. Please use your installation CD to reinstall or repair Windows.
Error
Code: 0x800040507

I even tried to 'Log in with last known good Configuation Settings'
from black screen at boot, and got same message.

Do I have to re-install XP Pro? I've never done a repair with this
OS, and am hoping it's a quick process.
