hi,

quick question if i may
whats the main differences between

Asus P5KPL-AM Intel G31 Socket 775 Motherboard

and

Asus P5Q iP45 Socket 775 Motherboard

besides the pci-e x2 at 2.0 and extra memory sockets etc

will i notice much difference with an e7400 overclocked?

The G31 is a chip soldered to the motherboard . It has a [slow] gfx chip built in and it doesnt have great overclocking options

the P45 is about 2 years newer , has no graphics built in [ but you are using a gfx card anyway , right? ] , allows you to overclock more easily and has more options to add other hardware like pci-e slots and more usb sockets etc

Get the p45

Agree with the Outlander, get the p45 board, even if you are building a budget machine. You wont be asking yourself later "why didnt I get the latest". And for the e7400 I've been doing research for myself and it comes that You will not benefit very much with OC'ing, unless U R expirienced and pushing the limits.
And then again if those 3-10% really matters 4 U, go for it.
