Pretty good build. Future-proof too, i.e. you can do Crossfire easily if needed.

Still, it could have been better if you asked first and bought later.

P5Q3+DDR3+HD 4870 512MB costs about the same as P5Q Pro (or GA-EP45-UD3P) + DDR2 + HD 4870 1GB, and it's a bit slower.

I have no idea how reliable those Maxtor and Seagate disks are. Seagate in particular is a bit risky these days. Try to keep the important stuff on the WD for the first few months.

The seagate and maxtor disks are a few years old i took them out of my old computer.
Also I did ask and i gave the list of things to buy to my dad and he decided to get me things that are better than what i actually wanted.

Good, then you're safe. The problem with the Seagate is a firmware bug in recent models. No worries for you. :)

You should be using Vista Home Premium 64-bit there (for DX10 and full access to the 4 GB of RAM).

Do you need a DVD burner? The SH-S223Q is one of the best these days.

Right now i am mostly playing crysis and fallout 3 and not had any problems yet.
Probably not gonna try overclocking yet i am using the ATI overdrive and the EPU-Six engine and that's about it.
