I would suggest changing to a motherboard which uses DDR2 as opposed to DDR3. You will not be able to notice any performance gain with DDR3 over DDR2, it will just cost more money.

I would suggest the Asus P5Q Pro or Gigabyte UD3P, or the Asus P5Q Deluxe if you are feeling spendy. If you were looking for wifi, I think you would be better off adding a wifi card. Or maybe someone else knows of a good DDR2 Wifi board.

Also go for the WD Caviar Black over the Green, much better performance.

I chose for the ddr3 memory as this would be pretty mainstream in about a year and therefore would have the possibility to add some more memory in due time.

Thanks for the tip regarding the wifi

Well if you really want to use DDR3, get a i7 build... your spending money on a motherboard and ddr3 memory that cost the same as a i7 motherboard and ddr3 triple channel memory.

What is your budget, does your budget include an OS (Windows) do you need a monitor to be included, and is this for a US, Canada, etc... If we have this info we can help you a lot better than just guessing.

I already have an Ilyama 22" monitor, and Windows Vista OS 64 bit OEM

I live in Europe, so perhaps certain models will be excluded.

Budget wise: around 100 - 150$ what I've seen now, looking perhaps for 512Mo.
