Ok, so heres the deal, a couple of days ago i got a pc, and its pretty much ok, i got a wolfsdale 1333-D667, a core 2 duo 2.66 E7300, 4gb kingston ddr2 ram, a maxtor 250gb, but i got a bit a problem with my graohics card, they gave me an nvidia 9400 GT, and it SUCKS, so im thinkin of getting an ati 4870 1gb, and i had a couple of questions, a) im playing on an AOC 17" 1440*900 monitor, is the HD 4870 enough to run crysis on very high at a decent framerate on that resolution? , b)if it doesnt, which single gpu would you recommend?, c) is this psu enough to power the HD(single and crossfire configs): Coolmax RM-750B 750-Watt Power Supply, http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] CatId=2533 , d) if not, please recommend some, keep in mind that i aint got a big budget, around 100 bucks or 120 bucks and thats it guys, thanks in advanced

On a 17 in, im pretty sure a 4870 1GB can handle those resolutions in crysis on high. If im not mistaken, isnt there a very high and then something along the lines of gamer extreme performance?
750w is good...750w will usually typically be plenty for x2 4870s in crossfire...

hmm...i guess i its enough for high, but the thing is id like something better than that, and yes, there are some tweaks out in the net to make crysis reach for ultra high settings, but i guess i could settle with Very high, and about the psu, i read that i need a certain amounts of amperes in the 12 v rail or something like that, so im not that sure if that psu i mentioned is strong enough

Very High shouldnt be a problem on a 17 inch

if you have the right connectors, your 750 will be plenty

ok man, thanks a lot

I actually would stay away from that Coolmax in favor of something that didn't put so much power on the 3V and 5V rail in favor of more of it's power on the 12V rail(s).

Also, it does not have all the necessary PCI-E power connectors for two 4870's. It only has two 6-pin connectors, and each 4870 needs two. You'd be two short.

I would instead suggest you continue looking.

Your CPU blows chunks. You will never see good performance under 3.4 at those resolutions on any card in that range. A 4870 1gb is more then your CPU can tend to actualy. Lucky for you your display is small. You should have more GPU then you know what to do with. A 4850 would probably yeild the same results though.
