How to change drive ownership windows xp

Hello, I'am trying to install windows 7 professional on my laptop and it keeps saying "G:\sources\winsetup.dll cannot open file for write access when trying to modifying the winsetup.dll so I can install windows 7 professional on a 256mb ram install pc. I am currently running windows xp professional service pack 3 version 2002
