Do you all prefer Asus or Evga? I know Evga is suppose to have great customer service but how do they compare overall?

Well I personally prefer EVGA. My last two comps were Asus boards and did perform good but I feel EVGA just offers more quality and performance. For one they don't waste space w/ an IDE connector like on that Asus board. I mean seriously, who uses IDE still? Everything is Sata pretty much which is faster and prettier anyways. Although if you do go w/ EVGA keep in mine you'll need a USB mouse since they don't have a PS2 port for mice, then again just about every good mouse is USB anyways.

I went to Microcenter and picked up a i7 860 and a Evga Sli. I keep looking at the Asus Deluxe and Evga FTW which is the next step up from what i got. I just noticed there wasn't any ide connection lol. My mouse is usb so no worries there. i just want to make sure since they are the same price that i get the best board between the 2(i use the term best loosely)

I think the overall quality of the eVGA boards is a little better than that of Asus.

Ok thanks. If i take the Evga Sli P55 mobo back it will only be to exchange it for the Evga P55 FTW. Since i only use one video card and not really an overclocker i may just keep the Evga Sli i brought

EVGA boards generally overclock better, while Asus boards generally have more treats (better codecs, light overclocking tools etc.).
