Well, depending on the motherboard...

the crucial has faster timeings, but i'v been a g-skill fan, and never had problems with g-skill... and to pick for 4gigs or 8gigs, depending on your $. (i got 8 gigs)... but it depends on the motherboard... will it handle 4 or 8 or 16... and etc...

so do some more studying... (i just purched a gameing system, and took me 2 months to pick out the exact parts) because i wanted the best, for the money and etc... and a bit picky about what i wanted...

good luck... on your system

unless its a core i7.. those have triple channel ddr so I'd go with 6gig 3x2gb chips and make sure to get the 64bit version of windows 7 if you are going to use anything over 3GB of ram.

Depends on what you need it for. If you're doing heavy editing, server, etc then 8GB (if dual-channel) / 12GB (if triple-channel) would be better. If you are just the average gamer, internet user or document typer then 4GB would be enough.
