Saw a similar thread for 1920x1080... but thought i'd give it a shot anyways.

i was thinking about the 4890... but i think i can get a gtx260 cheap.

will the gtx260 216sp be fine for me?

i play gtaiv and crysis

and i never understood it... if you had a gtx295... it'd still help you in terms of fps over a gtx275 or something... right? people say XXX is good enough for your resolution... but you can't ever have "good enough" it seems.. cuz every card upgrade will get you more fps?

Problem is crysis is a beast to try and push. The gtx 260 is great for everything bt crysis. I am running 2 4870 on one pc and 2 285's on the main rig and it is still tough to push crysis.

gettin advice from a rich boy doesn't really help that much hahaha :P

nah, im sure you got something to back you up... how bout those people who have worse cards at 1920x1200? do you wish you coulda gone with a gtx260, or 4890?

ATi's 4890 will pretty much pwn that GTX 260 at a res like that. Get the 4890 well worth it, unless you want to go with something like a GTX 275 or a 285.

Well rich boy. Have not been called a boy since I was 17 and joined the Army. I have two Degrees thanks to the army and own a computer buisness now. Definitely not a boy.

4890 would be a great purchase if you are on a budget.

Crossfire board - 4890
Non - Crossfire/SLI - Any would do...
x58(i7 board) - GTX 275 > 4890...(As SLI scales very well on the x58 chipsets).

why would a 275 > 4890 on a x58 board? it's only one card... not sli.

Well you would be able to oc the 4890 higher and get close to gtx 285 performance.

I have a 4850x2 driving my 24" @ 1920*1200 and the card is a beast .... it's just a bit slower -10% to 15%- than the 4870x2.
