I got a Lenovo S20 workstation with ICH9R and a pair of velociraptors in RAID0. Running Win7-64 Enterprise.

Every hour or so my machine slows down to a crawl. Looking at resource monitor this coincides with the following:

1. Highest Active Time goes beyond 100%
2. Response Time goes from milliseconds to seconds (3, 4, 7 is typical)
3. Disc Queue Length goes into high numbers. From typical 0.1-0.2 to 8s and 10s

This happens seemingly on schedule. About every hour or so. Lasts for approximately 10 minutes. No processes with high IO are present at the time.

I've updated the system with the latest BIOS/drivers. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

you might find this odd but back up your os and files to a usb or dvd or something, format the drives, and donnect them the other way round then re install everything. I know it seems random but i had a friend who asked me to fix his pc, same problem as yours, and it worked for some reason.
