AMD Athlon asking around

Hello, I have a question about an AMD AthlonXP 2.4+

Default FSB is 133 MHz and multiplier is 15, so that gives 1,995 MHz CPU speed.

I considered rising the FSB to 200 MHz and lowering the multiplier to 10.

That way the CPU will round up to exact 2 GHz, and RAM will run @ 266 MHz.

I am just wondering is it safe to make such a huge adjustment, or is it minor?

Thanks

  1. rising the FSB to 200 MHz and lowering the multiplier to 10. more faster than default
safe depend on temperature max temp 60C if over maybe 65C ! go down FSB ! it can damage your Hardware & other
  2. ^^ wow.. where are you from?

Anyway.. that's a pretty large jump as it does increase your RAM speed by a good chunk. I would instead, increase your FSB to 166 and set your multiplier to 12.
