Has anyone tried a 4 Pin ATX power supply with the P7P55D Pro? I didn't want to upgrade the PSU just yet, was gonna use an old 9800GTS and an ANTEC NEO 430W PSU, but I'm not sure if the 4 pin 12V plug can be used. The mobo has an 8 pin but has a plastic cover on half out of the box... Help is appreciated. Other info: I7 860 WD Caviar Black 1TB Samsung DVD Writer 4GB GSkill DDR3-1333 1.5V 7-7-7-18 Thanks, Tom

Ok guess I'll answer my own question. Seems that my 4 pin ATX PSU power cord fits fine in the uncovered 4 pins of the 8 pin connector, the computer has no problems running thus far... if anything changes I'll post another reply. FYI I plan on upgrading the PSU when the DX11 cards come out and the prices stabilize. For now the 430 Watt Antec NEO High Efficiency seems to be going fine, granted the video card is nothing new and I've only got one HDD and a DVD RW.

Hope this helps others.

Hi,

Same question same outcome. But, has anyone tried removing the cover and putting in the 8 pin connector that the manual suggest?

Thanks

yes! I just popped it off and used the 8 pin connector.
my psu has both types of connectors. I use the 8 pin as recommended by asus.
