Motherboard suggestion to go with GTX 260

Hello I was originally going to build a gaming rig with HD 4870 1gig as the video card, but I found a very good deal on the GTX 260 (not 216) 896mb that's about $70 cheaper, so I wanted to get that instead, since apparently they're very close in performance.

I was originally going to get the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P mobo, but it does not support SLI.

I'm not planning to upgrade in the next 3 years, so should I even bother getting a mobo that supports SLI? I was thinking maybe it'll make things a lot simpler just getting the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L (the cheaper version that only has 1 PCI-E x16 slot), and by the time I really need to upgrade, the iCore7 would probably be mainstream, meaning that I'll have to get a whole new mobo anyways to support it.

2) If I do get a mobo that supports SLI, which 750i board would you recommend?

Thanks!

If you are going to build a complete new system the only smart choice is to build an i7 based system with a SLI/CrossFire board.
For the GTX260 core 216 you can find them for as little as $159.99
Nvidia chipset Motherboards......no recomendation. Forgetaboutit.

The 192 processor version is not as close to the 4870 1gb...the 4870 is definitely better in that comparison. How much are you paying for that older GTX 260? You can get a GTX 260 with a 14% OC on the core with 216sp and 55nm manufacturing process for $170 after rebate, with a free Far Cry 2 game. If you don't like Far Cry 2, then you could sell it and just think of it as an extra $35 rebate...

Oh nevermind i got a mixup in numbers i was looking at GTX 260 on the Canadian newegg and the US one. Anyways, I ended up getting the 4870 1gb, and i guess i'm just going to get the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L mobo since I'm expecting in 3-5 years time there'll be a whole new generation of processors and video cards.

^+1 Gud choice...
