I set a system up for a stock broker who had origionally one pci express slot.

So put a dual out put pc express video card 2 dvi's or one d sub a and a dvi.

turn on pc and setup drivers etc

then i added a pci video card ( yes there are still some around ) and put his 3 monitor on that

he has two 17inch monitors either side of his 22 inch in the middle

he has to use firefox as internet explorer ( version 7 did anyway and i havent had ie 8 on his machine to try yet ) as it has a limitiation on open windows as his was crashing out when using java enabled apps which nearly all stock broking software uses.

Now I know there are other ways of doing it it 2 pci express cards but pci x - x1 video cards are expensive compared to pci express 8 and 16's

Also use two video cards of the same chipset - ie both nvidia - it will help

What was the point if he has already got a video card in his system..

This is a far cheaper option..
